EASTER AND THE JOY OF OUR CONSECRATION
In every age and time, Christ offers His invitation to all peoples to leave everything and follow Him (Mt 19:21); He invites so that we may belong solely to Him and live chaste, poor and obedient as He did (Phil 2). As consecrated persons, we responded to Jesus’ invitation by answering with a personal and freely given ‘Yes’. Thus, the consecrated, in freedom, becomes cut off from the ‘worldly’ to belong completely to Christ in a manner of mutual belonging. In this mutual belongingness, we become the earthly
manifestation of divinity while divinity becomes “deeper in us than our
interior being” (Ep. 187. 34). The consequence of this, is a JOY that the world cannot give.
